25Mar12 Visit to the old SPCA, then the new SPCA

Today, I took Shayna to go visit the old Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, ten years to the day that I first met her, after the long, long search for the “right” first dog for me.

I knew the building had been abandoned for the past five or six years, since the new CASPCA had been built – the “Taj Mahal” as we call it.  I didn’t know what we’d find.  It was pretty barren and decrepit, which is pretty much what it was like then, but the staff made the most of it.

Special note: At 2:45, I show the first picture ever taken of us, in front of of the old SPCA with Shayna the baby in my arms, on April 7, 2002.
