September 23, 2003: First video of Shayna swimming – ever
As described here, Shayna had severe water-phobia for the first 18 months of her life. It took a lot of patience (on both our parts) and courage (on her part alone) to overcome it.
What you’re about to see is the first video ever captured of Shayna swimming, soon after she overcame her fear of it, a few weeks prior.
Here, Shayna and I enjoy a beautiful late summer day at Chris Greene Lake. She even decided to take a dive off the dock (not captured on video, sorry!), to emulate another dog doing it… but decided, “No more, that’s not for me!”
That’s okay. We had a great time, as you can clearly see. And don’t miss Shayna’s two-tennis-ball retrieval!
